[This takes place about two days before the first (maybe second) RP of this forum]
Chapter I: [glow=beige,2,300]Emergence[/glow]
"Gurraaagh!" I yelled in pain. I clenched my head as I felt a pain that was sure to kill me. A man wearing a pitch-black Chainmail shirt and platelegs, with a Helm of Observance to conseal his face stood over me, holding in his hand an orb. He spoke through his helm in a clear voice, "Yes. Soon I will have all of your memories. And once again, I shall reign supreme over the village of Zarol, and soon, the world!" and began to laugh. All of my memories: my fourtheenth birthday, my first friend, my entire childhood, was being sucked away from me. Trying desparately to hold on to the memories I still had, only to fail and have them stripped from my mind, I clutched my head in agony. When the pain subsided, I fainted.
I awoke, to find myself in a dark forest. I looked around, while on the ground and observed my surroundings. Except for the lamp posts, of which their flames were very dim, the forest was a dark and dangerous place. I got up and noticed that I was wearing a black t-shirt which had strange symbols on them. I took it off and read the front. Immediately, my head recieved a mind-splitting pain. I fell to the ground and started to scream in agony. Thoughts were slowly streaming into my head, showing me mental pictures of the symbols. Just as soon as the pain started, it faded away. I opened my eyes and saw myself on my back, staring into the night sky, the stars shining brightly down on me, the moon brightly shining through the openings in the treetops. I slowly got up and looked around for the shirt. I picked it up and stretched it out so that I could see what the front said. It read "May my strength be my guide.". I looked on the back and it showed a Red Dragon, standing over a group of people, one of which looked strangly familiar. I shrugged and put the shirt back on. As soon as I did, I started to look around, until I found an odd weapon: a massive hammer of dubious weight and strength. I picked it up, expecting it to feel heavy, yet surprised at it's lightness. I started to walk deeper into the darkness when I saw a trail leading out of the forest. Curious, I started to walk slowly to the trail, when the hammer that I was dragging along suddenly vanished with a small glimmer of light. I then looked at the road and, using my eyes, followed where it led until my eyes could no longer see the path due to the lack of light. Feeling like I had to walk down it, I then proceded to walk down the path.

Chapter II: [glow=yellow,1,300]Discovery[/glow]
After what I believed to be for about ten minutes, I walked until I came upon a building of humongous proportions. It was so vast that it looked like it had been built in the span of over seven years, yet did not show any signs of age at all except for the vines growing around it. Lit torches gave some light so one could see how vast the building was. It was so vast that it could take you a day or so just to circumnavigate the exterior of the building. I approached the main door, walking carefully up the steps (which were made of marble), and stopped at the door, which stood in all its splendor. The doors, upon closer examination, appeared to be made from solid mahogany. I looked up to see about a few inches from my head a doorknob, as strange as I had ever seen. It had the head of a dragon, and its body was small, curling around and around the head until its tail made a loop so that one may grab it and knock the door with it. The doorknob was made from solid gold, which glimmered in the torchlight. I took my hand and grabbed the handle and knocked on the door. I waited for a minute before turning around.
I started to walk down the steps of the grand mansion when the doors behind me creaked open. I turned around quickly, the hammer that had disappeared suddently reappeared in my right hand. The doors continued to slowly open and a few moments later, they stopped. Light seemed to eminate from inside the building. Being cautious, I slowly made my way up the stairs and, somewhat reluctantly, moved through the open doors and slowly made my way into the foyer of the grand building. The walls were lit with torches as well, casting their light on the walls, revealing impressive designs on the wall, with solid gold trimming most of the wall. The ceiling also held it's immense wealth of light. A grand chandelier hanged down, white orbs of light bathing the whole room in it's brightness. An immense flight of stairs were in the back of the room, which led to a small platform, then had three more flights on either side of the platform. One flight went left, one went right, and another went up. There were some doors on the main floor, beautifully carved from solid mahogany just like the massive double doors that were for the main entrance. I started to slowly walk into the foyer, taking in the breath-stealing sights. Almost as soon as I had gotten to the middle of the foyer, I heard the double doors behind me creak. I turned around to see that the doors were beginning to close. I started to run to the doors. Just when I was about to get to the doors, I tripped over my own leg, causing me to slam into the ground chest first. I quickly got up and started running again. As I neared the doors, the doors slammed shut. I ran into the door and felt the force of my body hitting solid mahogany. I fell backward, dropping the hammer on the ground, which disappeared a few seconds later. I rose to my feet and started to pound on the door with my fists. I started to yell, "HEY! LET ME OUT!" when I heard a noise behind me.

Chapter III: [glow=purple,2,300]Combat[/glow]
I turned around to see that there was nothing there. The hammer that had disappeared when I slammed into the mahogany doors had reappeared in my hands. I held the hammer in both of my hands and slowly walked to the middle of the foyer, looking around for anything suspicious. As soon as I stood in the middle of the room, I saw a bright light eminate from the floor. Shielding my eyes with my left arm, I swung my hammer in all directions with my right arm, making sure that while I was temporary blinded by the light that I would not be caught by surprise. A few moments later, the bright light disapated.
I lowered my left arm and opened my eyes. I looked at the floor, which had the apperance of stained glass. After taking in the view of the floor, the picture showed a big red dragon, standing on it's hind legs, its front legs ready to claw through anything that attacked the dragon and its mouth open and ready to rip an assailant to shreads, bathing the teeth with blood. In front of the dragon was a shield that had a picture of a sword pointing downward with a dragon on the side, its tail curling up the sword in a spiral. The dragon's wings were unfolded and completely open, making one think that the dragon was going to jump out of the glass and attack you right there.
I was about to look and stand there, in the mysterious place that I was now, and marvel at how delicate the glass picture was when I saw something come out from nowhere, whizzing past me like a breeze in the wind. I turned around and saw what looked like a human. When I looked at it a second later after I brought my hammer up in defense, I noticed that what I took for a human was actually a human look-a-like. It was completely purple from head to toe, wore a purple shirt with baggy purple jeans, and had no face. It lunged at me with its right arm raised, which was now the shape of a sword. I dodged it, surprisingly to me, and then threw my hand out at it. As soon as my entire hand was open, like signaling 'stop' at a four-way intersection, a stream of magical projectiles launched from my hand, which shocked me a bit. The purple 'thing' quickly backed away, but was soon hit by the projectiles. After it got hit with the first one, it fell to the floor, and was consumed by the magical green dust of the projectiles. When the dust settled, the purple thing did not move. It stayed on the ground, its life fading rapidly. After a few seconds, it died. The thing's body then dissolved and disappeared into thin air, and the things existance was extinguished.

Chapter IV:
[glow=red,3,300]Battle at the Palace of Memories[/glow]
[Note: It is a bit longer than my previous story posts, but I think you all can manage. ;D]
As soon as the things body dissolved. Another flash of bright light erupted from right in front of me. Shielding my eyes again with my left arm, I blocked the light. After the light receeded, I let my left arm fall to my side, only to have it brought up again as I summoned the hammer back into my hands. I did not care how I did it, only that I needed something to use as a weapon so that I could protect myself from anything that tried to attack me. I had somehow been transported into a different area. Instead of the massive foyer that I had seen before the bright light took me away to that stained glass floor, I was now in a room filled with the light of blazing candles. My body casting a shadow on the wall due to the light of the candles. The walls had paintings of what looked like me having a birthday party....me meeting my very first friend....and me in some embarrasing moments. It was almost as if-
"Almost as if they were your own memories?" a voice calmly said. I was immediately yanked back into reality and looked around, bringing the hammer up to block any attacks, to see where the voice had come from. Suddenly, a small shimmer of light appeared no less than fifteen feet away from me. It lasted only for a few seconds before a woman took its place. The woman's figure was slender, very well built. Her face was like that of an angel: no pimples...no blemishes....nothing. Her eyes....they were a different thing. They were colored red, which was unusual, and somehow gave me the impression that they could pierce right through my mind and tell what I was thinking...what I was feeling. I looked at her and asked, "Who are you?" She put her hands behind her back, bended over, looked at me, and said, "Well, I am the keeper of this building. It has many names, but you humans call it: The Palace of Memories." She straightened herself and pointed a finger at herself, saying, "I also have a name, but you may call me 'Keeper' if you like." I brought my hammer down, but not so much as to foolishly let my guard down, and said, "What is going on? Why am I in those paintings?" She looked at one of them , the one showing me having a birthday party, and said, "These paintings only show memories. And sadly, you have lost yours." I stared, shocked at her. "I...lost my memories?" I asked her. She turned to me and said, "Yes."
She opened her mouth to continue, but before a word passed her lips, there was a small explosion. It sounded faint, but it caused Keeper to be alarmed. She quickly said, "I know you have many questions, but now is not the time. Someone is trying to destroy this place. And if this place falls, everyone in the world will lose their memories!" I yelled over another explosion, "What am I supposed to do?" She spoke, "You must fight." At that instant, she snapped her fingers, which rang very clearly through the third explosion, and I found myself in the foyer. The sun was beginning to rise through the big hole in the wall that had not been there when I first entered the Palace. Immediately, a vast army of the purple things swarmed the hole, entering through it. I quickly brought my hammer up and screamed. I jumped into the air and brought it down on three of them, causing them to turn to purple mush. I then swung my hammer around, eliminating twelve more. I then started my campaign of endless smashing, squishing, and slamming. Soon, though, I became very tired. I then heard the Keeper's voice ring in my head, "Mark, I have been battling the one who brought the monstrocities, called Phaers, into the foyer. I will give you a power that you once had back, but it also will have a terrible price! Try not to use it for an extended period of time, or the side effects could be irreversable!" I closed my eyes, feeling an immense power flow into me, and also sensing some of the Phaers rushing at me or jumping into the air to bring down their sword-arms. I then opened my eyes, and screamed loudly (Talk about anime cliche! -L17RDD; Ed.). It felt like my entire body was on fire! I felt wings erupt on my back, my mouth extending outward to form a jaw, my hair on my head growing bigger, my ears extending backwards to reveal pointed ears, my teeth enlargening, my body growing taller with each second, my hands and feet turning into claws, with the nails transforming into deadly mini-daggers, and a tail forming from where my tailbone was. After a few seconds, I looked to see the Phaers look at me with fright. I then looked at myself. My clothes were gone, somehow. I looked at my hands, then at my wings, then at the new tail. I then felt my face, which felt scaley, then my hair, which was like a living flame. I then looked at the Phaers and threw away my hammer. I lunged at them, and somehow destroying them with ease. I felt like I was having the time of my life, easily exterminating the Phaers with great ease. Soon, however, things were about to change.
After ten minutes of being in 'Dragon Mode', I felt my body erupt in flame again. I retreated away from the Phaers and felt my body return to normal. A few seconds later, my body returned to its previous state. I then thought, uh-oh. The Phaers, sensing a moment of opportunity, charged at me. I thought that I was going to die, with no weapon, as I had made it disappear, when I felt my body erupt in pain. The Phaers, sensing this, backed away. They watched as I doubled over in pain. It was unbearible! I felt like I was going to die due to this pain. After a while though, the pain went away, and I stood up ready to fight again. Before I could do that, though, my body erupted in flame. This time, however, the flames also connected with the pain I had experienced only a few moments ago! I felt my body painfully transform as I thought I was going into a different 'Dragon Form', but noticed the pain between the tips of my ears and the edges of my eyebrows where horns were growing out of my head. I felt my control over my body slowly slipping away until I felt like something else was controling me and that I was just there to experience it in first person. After the painful transformation, the Phaers started to run away in fear. I saw, from what I could see, that my body was almost like my dragon form, but my eyes took on a reddish glow, making red colors stand out more, and horns long enough to pierce through even the toughest armor gleamed in the sunlight. My body was like that of a male bodybuilders, but almost ten times as that [kind of like that Armstrong dude from Full Metal Alchemist, or whatever his name is. L17RDD, Ed.]. I felt my new form open its wings, which had a blood-like color on them, and watched them go up, then down to propell my body up into the air, then downward to chase the Phaers down and exterminate every single one. I watched with greusome horror as I tore, ripped, and dismembered the Phaers with grotesque precision.
This carried on for ages, watching myself butcher the phaers like they were made of tissue paper. I just watched as I mauled, bit, butchered, and destroyed every single phaer. It was not long before all the phaers were gone and I was the only one left. Unexpectedly, my body unleashed a very loud scream. A loud scream, full of pain, sorrow, and anguish. After the scream, I felt my body erupt in the painful flame again. I regained control over my body, and felt the painful flames licking my body with their burning embers. [Sounds a bit messed up, doesn't it? L17RDD, Ed.]. Before long, the pain had subsided and the flames had dispersed. I stood there for a millisecond before falling to the floor, still in pain from what had just transpired. I tried to stay awake, but my vision was blurring and I was losing conciousness. Before I blacked out, I saw the Keeper running towards me.

Chapter V The Final Chapter in the Prelude
[glow=green,2,300]The Start of a New Journey[/glow]
I woke with a start when I felt some kind of liquid was being splashed on me. I looked around to see a magic hand holding a bucket over me. The hand darted away from me, pail still in its clutches, and disappeared from my view. The room I was in was like a regular bedroom. The bed I was sitting on was very soft, yet firm at the same time. I looked to see if the water had gotten on the bed, which surprisingly was clean of any mess whatsoever. There was a wardrobe in a corner of the room, along with a dresser and a floor mirror. There was also a small basin that contained water so as one may wash their hands or face. I heard a small cough and I turned my head left. Keeper was sitting in a chair, her eyes closed, her head down to show that she was thinking. She looked up and saw me. Keeper said, "Good, you are awake." She got up and walked to me. "Listen Mark. In order to get your memories back, you must travel the entire world, seeing all that you can, meeting new people along the way. Only after you have done this will your memories return to you." I got up, and before I could leave, Keeper said, "Wait, before you go, I have some things for you," and with that, she clapped her hands twice.
Immediately, a few of those floating hands came bursting out of a wardrobe. Two of the hands were holding a folded piece of fine cloth, another hand was carrying a necklace and two rings. Two seconds later, another hand came out of the wardrobe, holding what looked like a platebody of some kind. The hand that was holding it did not even struggle to hold it up. A few more hands came out of the wardrobe, carrying a set of platelegs, a special kind of boots, and a helm. Keeper clapped her hands again, and the gifts were laid down on the bed where I had been moments ago. She pointed to all of the things and said, "These gifts I bestow upon you, Mark. The armor will help protect you against the elements, no matter how strong. The cloak will help you to evade enemies when need be, and the jewelry has been enchanted to give you advice and also has the ability to heighten your attack power at the cost of some of your energy." She then walked to the dresser and picked up a small ring. She handed it to me and said, "Take this as well. It is a talisman that will help you stay concious when you go into your demon form. However, you will tire easily while wearing it, so don't assume you can go into that form whenever you want. Only use it in the most extreme of circumstances." I nodded, taking the ring, and said, "Thank you Keeper." And with that, she walked out of the room after saying 'Goodbye'. I looked outside of the door to see that she had disappeared. I then turned at the door to look at the gifts she had left for me, staring at them in thought.
I walked to the gifts, donning the armor first, then attacking the cloak to the two clips on the shoulders. Next, the amulet went on, followed by the helm went on, which did not obstruct my vision. Then I took the rings and fit them on my right thumb, my middle finger on my left hand, and the ring Keeper handed to me went on my middle finget on my right hand. I thought that something was missing when I noticed that there were no gauntlets for me. I was thinking of purchasing them when I got to the nearest town when I saw a poof of smoke appear on the bed. When the smoke cleared, a pair of gauntlets became visible. I picked them up, looked at then, and thanked Keeper out loud while I put them on. I exited the room to find a hand floating in front of me. It surprised me a little, but I kept it hidden. The hand seemed to beckon me to follow it. I did.
After five minutes of following the hand, I found myself in the foyer to the Palace of Lost Memories. I thanked the hand, knowing that it had no ears, and walked through the doors, and into the bright sunlight. I walked down the path until I felt like something was watching me. I then hear Keeper's voice say, "Mark, I forgot to tell you that while you wear those gifts I gave you, you can communicate with me wherever you are." She paused momentarily and said, "The nearest town from here is the town of Lare. It is a small port town, but there is no visible path to the town. You will have to go alone on finding the town, I'm afraid." I said outloud, "Very well." Before her presence left me, I heard her say, "You do not have to speak outloud. You can just say your words in your mind and I will hear them. Now, go Mark. Go and recover your memories." And with that, I set off for the port town of Lare.
