It's finally out! EB got it a couple days late, but I was finally able to grab a copy last night and played it till about 11:30. I've only made it to chapter 5, but the game is great. Love the story, the characters are cool and interesting, and the battles are as fun as ever.
Who knows, maybe I'll even put more hours on this than I did the first Disgaea.

Jeez, you haven't played Disgaea? That's...sad.
Anyway, I've got close to 50 hours on the game so far. I've got a top rank wood golem at about level 500, and a rank four zombie dragon around 100. I plan on making a regular dragon named Trogdor, and to shut my brother up I'll make a holy dragon, since he won't stop telling me how awesome they are.
The wood golems are freaking insane. Mine has about 55,000 hit points, and his special ability lets him regenerate 20% of that every turn. Add in his really high attack, defense, and counterattack, and he's d**n near unstoppable. Most enemies don't even do damage to him, and if they do he kills them with his counterattacks and then regens his life.
I need to do some serious leveling so I can collect all the treasure maps for the land of carnage, go to the dark world, recruit the rest of the hidden characters, and collect tons of specialists so I can make really uber equipment for my army.

I started a Disgaea 2 file. And I agree wholeheartedly. I love the game too.
The geochains still confuse me a little but overall it gets 9 Samurai swords out of 10.
